Prescriptions

NHS patients treated for cancer at The Christie do not have to pay for their prescriptions from the hospital Pharmacy.

Cancer patients will also be exempt from ALL prescription charges (not just those dispensed at The Christie for cancer) dispensed on or after 01 April 2009. This means cancer patients will no longer have to pay for their prescriptions at community pharmacies after this date.

You will need an exemption certificate available from your community pharmacy.
