Runner for The Christie charity receives boost from financial expert

One lucky charity fundraiser received a head start this morning after becoming the 100,000 twitter follower of finance expert Martin Lewis.

The finance celebrity announced on twitter that he would donate £1,000 to the charity of choice for his 100,000 follower.  Caroline Cash, 30 from Northwich, who was already signed up to run the Great Manchester Run with her husband Dennis in aid of The Christie charity, was announced as the winning follower.

Within five minutes, Martin Lewis was a man of his word and kindly donated £1,000 onto Caroline's fundraising page for The Christie charity.

Caroline Cash, said:

"I was online at the time setting up my online fundraising page and found out about this through a retweet, so it was really just luck!  I only signed up to do the Great Manchester Run a few weeks ago, so I'm really pleased to have had this positive start."
