Clinical research

Our understanding of urological cancers continues to grow and, as a result, established treatments are refined and new treatments are being developed. However, many questions still exist and, at every stage of cancer diagnosis and treatment, we are looking to improve the outlook for patients.

The GU group aims to offer patients with urological cancers the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of clinical trials. The majority of these trials will be assessing new drugs, radiotherapy or surgical techniques but trials may also be performed in other areas including diagnostics (e.g. scan techniques to assess the extent of a cancer), follow-up and quality of life. The research studies available are constantly changing as completed trials are closed and new trials are opened.
