We are proud of our 100-year history and our excellent reputation - and it's something we want to build on. Foundation trust status helps us to do this by giving us greater freedom to develop our services for cancer patients - with the public having a bigger say in our decisions.

We will become increasingly efficient in using our income and the very specialist skills of our staff. And when we make savings we will reinvest the money to provide modern and more effective treatments.

Overall, we aim to provide a better deal for patients - with more services on offer and more available locally.

We will make sure that the care we provide is of the highest standard, wherever it is delivered.

We are one of the leading cancer centres in Europe and, over the next five years, we intend to improve even more.
