Tyldesley
Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley,
gave staff at The Christie a boost by nominating them for a Pride
of Britain award for their 'awesome' work.
Catherine, who plays Eva Price in the soap, told
the Daily Mirror:
"It is the most incredible place, they make lives so much
better. A couple of my friends and family have been helped by them.
The job they do is awesome. A lot of us here at Coronation Street
are right behind them for Pride of Britain. The awards are very
important. They are one of the things, like fish and chips, pies,
puddings and pubs that make me proud to be British."
Earlier this year, Catherine raised vital funds for The Christie
in this year's Great Manchester Run and visited the cancer centre
to learn about the work The Christie staff do and meet
patients.
